State and Local Ballot Initiatives

The California Business Roundtable is the leading voice for business at the state and local ballot box, educating voters about the impact of policy measures, working to ensure a favorable business environment that promotes economic growth and prosperity for all Californians.  We support measures that foster innovation, entrepreneurship, and job creation, such as those that reduce regulatory burdens, invest in infrastructure, and improve the education system to develop a skilled workforce.

We also actively oppose measures that could hinder economic development, such as excessive taxation, restrictive regulations, and policies that discourage business investment. By engaging in political activity, the California Business Roundtable aims to advocate for policies that will benefit businesses, workers, and communities across the state, ultimately contributing to a thriving economy and higher quality of life for Californians.

CBRT Issues PAC

The California Business Roundtable Issues PAC has raised millions of dollars in the past decade and is now the most powerful statewide business voice at the ballot box advocating for pro-business policies that align with our vision for economic growth and prosperity in the state.

The PAC focuses on issues such as taxation, regulatory reform, infrastructure investment, and workforce development, working to influence public policy decisions that impact businesses and the overall economy.

Donations to the Roundtable Issues PAC cannot be earmarked pursuant to state law and support the multiple priorities of the Roundtable, its members, and the broader business community.

No on Prop. 33: Californians to Protect Affordable Housing

Fighting against statewide rent control that will make the housing crisis worse.

California already has among the strongest statewide tenant protection laws in the country, providing certainty on rent increases while ensuring critical affordable housing can still be built in our state. But Michael Weinstein and his multi-million dollar special interest group are pushing their third attempt to impose a flawed rent control measure on Californians.

These same special interests have spent tens of millions of dollars on their flawed proposals—only to have Proposition 21 defeated with a 60% NO vote in 2020 while Proposition 10 was rejected with a 59% NO vote in 2018. Learn more at Californians for Affordable Housing
