Previous Ballot Actions

Elevating and empowering the voice of voters.

The California Business Roundtable has been a leading voice at the ballot box for the last 20 years. Through our collective efforts with the broader business community and diverse coalitions representing every part of the state, we have helped pass ballot measures that improve the business climate, increase our ability to grow jobs, and fight for prosperity for businesses and all Californians.

Through integrated efforts, including the Roundtable’s Issues PAC, we have ensured that voters remain the ultimate check and balance on state and local policies affecting economic development and prosperity.

2020 Ballot Actions

Despite a global pandemic and economic shutdown, special interests placed Proposition 15, the largest property tax in California history on the November 2020 ballot. The so-called “split-roll” property tax increase would have raised taxes on small businesses at a time when many were still closed due to state-mandated shutdowns. The California Business Roundtable led the effort to defeat this dangerous tax measure and maintain Prop. 13’s important taxpayer protections.
