News & Updates - CALIFORNIA BUSINESS ROUNDTABLE MAKES UNPRECEDENTED ENDORSEMENT IN L.A. MAYOR’S RACE
(CALIFORNIA)—The California Business Roundtable, a statewide business advocacy organization made up of the senior leadership of some of California’s largest employers, has taken an unprecedented step in its 40-year history and has voted to endorse Mr. Rick Caruso in the race for the Mayor of Los Angeles.
“Mr. Caruso has a defined plan for the future of the city and is committed to making real change, especially to address the city’s chronic homelessness crisis. He is a proven leader, committed to improving the city, understands the needs of small business and employees, and will help bring about much-needed economic growth to the city and region,” said Tom McKernan, Chairman of the Board and Chairman of the Automobile Club of Southern California. “The city and state are facing major hurdles to economic security and social equity, and we strongly believe that Mr. Caruso has a plan and the desire to make real, meaningful change to make L.A. the city we know it can be.”
After a months-long process and upon hearing presentations from both candidates, members of the Business Roundtable voted overwhelming to endorse Mr. Caruso.
“The California Business Roundtable has never endorsed a candidate before,” added Rob Lapsley, CBRT President. “But given the importance of the L.A. mayor’s role in influencing local, regional, and statewide policy, our members have chosen to endorse Rick Caruso for Mayor of Los Angeles. He has committed his career and volunteer work to improving the city and has the proven experience needed to succeed. His philanthropic work, his dedication to empowering working families, education, and public safety, and his results-driven work ethic demonstrate he is the right person for the job. We join the broader L.A. business community in voicing our support for Mr. Caruso and looking forward to the much-needed change he will bring to the city, especially to address the city’s out-of-control homelessness crisis.”
The California Business Roundtable joins other business groups, including the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce and the Los Angeles Business Federation in endorsing Rick Caruso for Mayor
